Ghanaian gospel artiste Perez Muzik emerged as one of the biggest winners at the recently concluded Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) held on May 6. The singer took home two prestigious awards – Best Male Vocal Performance and Songwriter of the Year, leaving the event as a very satisfied person.
Speaking to a reporter from Graphic Showbiz on May 8, Perez Muzik expressed his excitement and gratitude to God for the recognition. He attributed his success to the grace and favor of God, considering the tough competition in the categories he won. He further explained that winning the awards has set a standard for him to work even harder and produce quality music that saves lives.
Perez Muzik, born Frank Tagoe, has been in the music industry since 2015 and has gained recognition for his soul-winning and inspirational songs. His latest single, Hewale Lala, won him the two awards at VGMA 2023. The gospel artiste has performed at various events including MTN Stands in Worship, Adom Praise, Joy FM Staff Durbar, and Onua TV Outdoor Concert. He also held his own concert, Outpouring at ICGC, Father’s House, Dansoman, and plans to host another at the Victory Bible Church, Dominion Centre, on August 27.
Despite his success, Perez Muzik remains grounded and true to his values. When asked if he has plans to collaborate with secular musicians, he replied that it depends on the direction and purpose of the project, and that he stands for certain values.
